Smiley Sturgis
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide leadership for Good News Church. 
Smiley married way out of his league; he and Karen have been married for over 30 years.  They have been blessed with six wonderful children, plus two more through marriage.  Smiley planted Good News in 1991, after planting and pastoring West Boca Presbyterian for 11 years.  Good News has been an opportunity for him to “come home” and grow a ministry for the people of St. Augustine where he graduated from both high school and college.

Andy Hirko
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide leadership for Good News Church- World Golf Village. Andy finds his identity in the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.  He is married to his hilarious and beautiful best friend, Kristy.  They have an amazing daughter, Lilyana, who thankfully looks like her mother.  Andy finds the most joy in seeing the Holy Spirit reach and transform people.  He is a die-hard Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan and he could eat Mexican food for every meal.

Dave Aucremann
ASSOCIATE PASTOR, Dave Aucremann 
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To oversee the Pastoral Care and Discipleship ministries of Good News Church.                 
Dave envisions the day when God’s people at Good News Church are connected together in a multiplying network of small groups bringing life change through the power of the gospel.  He believes the only way to see that happen is to multiply leaders who are passionate, equipped, and encouraged in our calling to community.  He and his wife Sue Ellen have two children- Madolyn and David, Jr.  They lived in Charlotte, NC and West Palm Beach, FL before joining the staff of Good News in the fall of 2006.

Travis Stevens
ASSISTANT PASTOR – World Golf Village, Travis Stevens 
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide pastoral care to members of Good News Church-World Golf Village                             
Travis provides pastoral care to our members on the World Golf Village Campus.  Travis is a St. Augustine native blessed with an exceptional wife, Canaan, and four active children: Riley, Luke, Galilee and Georgia Vaill. Travis is finishing Seminary and seeks to make disciples of the nations through the local church. Travis enjoys family time, friends, sports, traveling, and tries to laugh as much as possible.

Ed Taylor
Worship Director
Primary Function: To lead our congregation in worship.
Ed is a St. Augustine local who has been in full-time Christian service since 1995.  He served as youth pastor at two other local churches and now serves as our Worship Director.  Ed and Dottie are the parents of two: Sarah and Brian.  Ed and Dottie consider serving Good News a family commitment.  Ed combines his artistic and musical abilities with a deep level of scriptural knowledge.

Peter Young
College Director
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To oversee the College Ministry.
Peter is a graduate of Flagler College with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion & Philosophy, History, and minor in Youth Ministry & Young Life. He and his wife Molly met in the college ministry at Good News as students and were married in 2009. Peter passionately believes in raising up leaders of the next generation and helping them discover Biblical community. He has been on staff since July 2011 and loves surfing, examining culture, watching movies and beating his fellow staff members at games of RISK. Peter spends his time on staff connecting with college-aged students helping them explore the implications of being a disciple of Christ.

Dan Bookhout
Youth Director
Primary Function: To oversee the youth ministry.
Dan is a graduate of Flagler College.  He became involved at Good News while a student at Flagler.  After completing a year long internship with the Youth Ministry at Good News, Dan became the Middle School Director in 2010.  In August of 2011 Dan became the Youth Director and assumed responsibility for overseeing  both Middle School and High School ministry.  Dan is married to Jenny Whittington-Bookhout.

Mary Courter
Children’s Director
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To oversee the children’s ministry.
 
Mary is a native ofSaint Augustine.  She came to faith through the ministry of Young Life here inSaint Augustine.  She was a member of Good News and served in children’s ministry for many years before becoming our full time Children’s Director in 2010.  She and her husband Alex have four children- Alison, Emily, Sam, and Autumn.  Mary brings a tremendous passion for the gospel and a love for children to her ministry.

Tavanya Freeman
Ministry Assistant
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide administrative support to the ministries of Good News Church.
 
Tavanya supports the different areas of ministry administratively. She also works with the youth to organize and plan events and to help lead the girl’s middle school and high school small groups.   She is a graduate of Flagler College. Tavanya has been working for Good News for 8 years. Her passion for students and missions has made her a tremendous support to the youth ministry at Good News.  She can be reached at
 
Susan McClure
Office Manager
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To manage the office functions of the church. 
Susan is the smiling face who greets you at our reception desk during the week.  She serves as the church’s Office Manager and is helpful to the pastor and staff in many ways. Susan has been on staff since May, 2002. She has two children, Jillian and Johnny, both in college. She is a native Floridian who grew up in theFort Lauderdalearea before moving to theAncientCity.

Steve Rodenbaugh
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To care for the facility and grounds ofGoodNewsChurch. 
Steve is the “go to” guy for all facility and maintenance issues at Good News Church.  He and his wife, Chris, joined Good News Church in 1997 and the staff in 2011. Thankfully, he has great sense of humor.
