Smiley married way out of his league; he and Karen have been married for over 28 years.  They have been blessed with six wonderful children.  Smiley planted Good News in 1991, after planting and pastoring West Boca Presbyterian for 11 years.  Good News has been an opportunity for him to “come home” and grow a ministry for the people of St. Augustine where he graduated from both high school and college. Dave is the Community Director.  He envisions the day when God’s people at Good News Church are connected together in a network of small groups bringing life change through the power of the gospel.  He believes the only way to see that happen is to multiply leaders who are passionate, equipped, and encouraged in our calling to community.  He and his wife Sue Ellen have two children- Madolyn and David, Jr.  Dave joined the staff of Good News in 2006. Travis assists in the advancement of our Small Group Ministry by providing leadership to Coaches and Shepherds, and providing care to our members on the Wildwood Campus.  Travis is a St. Augustine native and is blessed with a phenomenal wife, Canaan, and 4 young, active kids: Riley, Luke, Galilee, and Georgia. Ed is a St. Augustine local who has been in full-time Christian service since 1995.  He served as youth pastor at two other local churches and now serves as our Worship Director.  Ed and Dottie are the parents of two: Sarah and Brian.  Ed and Dottie consider serving Good News a family commitment.  Ed combines his artistic and musical abilities with a deep level of scriptural knowledge. Peter is a graduate of Flagler College.  He and his wife Molly met in the college ministry at Good News, and were married here at Good News in 2009.  After graduation and a year spent in Oklahoma Peter was hired as the College Director in June of 2011. Peter can be reached at peter@gnpc.org

Dan is a graduate of Flagler College.  He became involved at Good News while a student at Flagler.  After completing a year long internship with the Youth Ministry at Good News, Dan became the Middle School Director in 2010.  In August of 2011 Dan became the Youth Director and assumed responsibility for overseeing  both Middle School and High School ministry.  Dan is married to Jenny Whittington-Bookhout. Dan can be reached at dan@gnpc.org

Mary is a native ofSaint Augustine.  She came to faith through the ministry of Young Life here inSaint Augustine.  She was a member of Good News and served in children’s ministry for many years before becoming our full time Children’s Director in 2010.  She and her husband Alex have four children- Alison, Emily, Sam, and Autumn.  Mary brings a tremendous passion for the gospel and a love for children to her ministry. Her email is mary@gnpc.org

Tavanya supports the different areas of ministry administratively. She also works with the youth to organize and plan events and to help lead the girl’s middle school and high school small groups.   She is a graduate of Flagler College. Tavanya has been working for Good News for 8 years. Susan is the smiling face who greets you at our reception desk during the week. She serves as the church’s Office Manager and is helpful to the pastor and staff in many ways. Susan has been on staff since May 2002. She has two children, Jillian and Johnny, both in college. She is a native Floridian who grew up in the Fort Lauderdale area before moving to the Ancient City.
